Swish Building Products is delighted to announce that it has achieved a third Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), this time for its coloured skin and foiled finished profiles.

This latest EPD, which is in accordance with EN 15804:2012+A2:2019, acts as a supporting declaration to the company’s existing EPD for its white cellular co-extruded profiles, further strengthening the breadth of independently verified environmental data available across the Swish product range.

To obtain this EPD, Swish once again partnered with the Building Research Establishment (BRE), a highly respected organisation within the industry. By continuing to work with BRE, Swish ensures consistency and continuity of data across its EPDs, while maintaining a strong and trusted relationship.

The aim of an EPD, which is based on data gathered through the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of a product, is to communicate the environmental performance and impact of that product in a clear, concise and transparent way. This enables customers and specifiers to make more informed decisions when selecting building materials.

Dave Osborne, Technical Manager at Swish, explains the importance of gaining a third EPD for both Swish and its customers:

“Achieving our third EPD is an important milestone for Swish, building on our existing declarations for our white PVC profiles and Kayflow rainwater systems. Together, these EPDs demonstrate our long-term commitment to sustainability and our proactive approach to providing customers with transparent, credible environmental data to support their own sustainability goals.”

Swish Building Products will continue to invest in sustainability initiatives and expand its EPD coverage across its wider product ranges as part of its contribution towards a more sustainable built environment.
