Swish Transport Report 2025

Swish is committed to continuous improvement in the environmental performance of its delivery fleet to minimise its impact on the environment.

By monitoring the number of miles covered by our delivery vehicles and the fuel consumed over that distance, we can measure the efficiency of our delivery operations and assess the impact of the strategies we implement to reduce fuel usage.

To achieve these efficiencies, we have introduced several carefully monitored actions:

  • The Swish transport fleet is regularly updated to take advantage of improvements in vehicle emission levels and fuel usage. Throughout 2024/25 we updated 15 vehicles in our fleet to current Euro VI standards.
  • All vehicles are regularly maintained to a high standard to ensure they perform at their optimum.
  • Because our fleet is so efficient, we use our own vehicles on longer routes and use subcontract vehicles only when necessary.
  • We monitor load utilisation and use software to maximise loads and reduce mileage.
  • We have plans to train all our drivers to help them improve fuel usage. We monitor harsh braking and speeding using a new improved tracking system, and our new vehicles include driver assistance technology that provides real time guidance on optimum driving techniques to reduce fuel consumption.

Diesel usage

In 2025, the Swish transport fleet’s MPG efficiency improved. Our articulated HGVs achieved a 16.8% improvement in fuel economy compared to 2024. This improvement resulted from two key factors: the fleet now consists entirely of Euro VI vehicles, and we made further modifications to our routes and planning.

Plans for 2026

In 2026, we will continue to improve the efficiency of our fleet by replacing two HGVs and increasing the fleet with four additional fuel‑efficient HGVs. We are also investigating new technology to even further enhance route planning, vehicle utilisation, and driver performance tracking and monitoring.
