Managing Director of The Old Rectory, Gordon Walters explains, "The existing marine ply that bordered the swimming pool was suffering from condensation staining and we needed to find an attractive, long-lasting and, very importantly, quick solution."

 

The walls and ceiling were first battened out over a damp proof membrane, and then Green Marble Marbrex panels were installed.

 

The panels have waterproof tongue and groove joints that do not require grouting. This produces a surface that does not harbour mould or germs and is easy to clean. Marbrex has a honeycomb structure that is warm to the touch and helps to reduce condensation, making it the ideal wall covering for water leisure areas and changing rooms.

 

"The pool area is very popular, and we didn't want to close it for any longer than necessary" adds Gordon. "A local company, Summers PVC, completed the job, from start to finish, in five days,"

 

"I was impressed by the ease and speed of the installation, and the finished effect is very much in keeping with the club's surroundings."
