Whitefriars Housing Association has reduced its annual maintenance costs by specifying cellular PVC roofline from Swish Building Products as part of a bungalow refurbishment project in Coventry. The 12 month project involved the refurbishment
of 106 properties in Holloway Fields, and Thistley Fields housing
estates in the Coundon area of the city.
The properties were originally built in 1945,
and were meant to have been two storey houses but due to material
shortages after the war they were adapted into bungalows. During
the early 1970's the homes were modernised to feature a pitched
tiled roof with fascias, soffits and shiplap boarding.
Refurbishment was again required last year, when the timber
roofline components began to rot after the paintwork began to
peel.
The bungalows were fitted with white Swish
cellular PVC Jumbo fascia boards, Polo ventilated soffit boards and
shiplap profile cladding which complemented the existing style of
the roof.
The Housing Association decided to specify
Swish Building Products because of the maintenance free benefits of
its range of products and the long term cost saving that would
follow. Specifiers at the Housing Association were also impressed
by the high levels of customer service and unique Swish 15 year
product guarantee.
The refurbishment is part of partnership
project involving Whitefriars Housing Group, Lovells and approved
sub contractors.
