Characteristics
Boards fit
together by simple tongue and groove location. Each plank
is secured to battens towards its upper edge
using stainless steel pins. This area is then covered by the
next plank to ensure that fixings are not seen.
Long
sections of plank are flexible enough to be insert into
pre-fixed, one-piece edge trims at both ends. Shorter lengths will
require two-part edge trims.
Cellular
PVC has better thermal characteristics than timber and will
provide improved U values especially when used in conjunction
with insulation.
At all
joints, an expansion gap of 4mm per board must be allowed
for.

Important Design and Installation
Notes
 All
cladding designs may be mounted horizontally. Tee Gee and Open
V designs may also be mounted vertically .
 Ventilation
is recommended for all installations and is essential where
insulation or coloured cladding is used. (See Framing Out)
 Plank
installation is the last stage in the cladding process. Please
ensure that the guides for Framing Out
and installation of Trims have been
properly consulted.

Installation Sequence
 The first
(lowest) plank is located on the starter trim and nailed in place
through the fixing groove at the top edge (Fig5,6,8).
 Fixing
should commence at the centre of each plank working
progressively outwards.
 Plank ends
must be nailed at their top edge into the
vertical battens.
 Allow a
4mm expansion gap at each plank end (Fig19,20)
 Where joint
covers are used, install tight to the plank ends.
Joint covers should be staggered, their spacing lugs will
automatically provide 4 mm clearance between adjacent plank
lengths. (Fig22). Fix all joint covers over supporting
battens (Fig21).
 Fit
subsequent planks over the preceding row, ensuring that the tongue
and groove joint is firmly closed to conceal the nail heads
within the overlap.
 Check
regularly for line and level.
 Planks
that require cutting at the top of a panel or under
openings must be supported by packing pieces under
the fixing points (Figs16,17).
