Over Fascia Ventilator
Soffits with and without ventilation |
Building regulations require the roof void to be ventilated in order to prevent a build up of condensation which might result in damage from rot.Ventilation can be provided through the soffit board or over the top of the fascia. Swish supplies a range of components to achieve either option.
Over Fascia Ventilation The ventilator unit (Jumbovent or Over Fascia Ventilator)sits on top of the fascia board and is hidden by the guttering system. This means that the soffit is left plain without ventilation slots in it which is a look preferred by some homeowners. It may not be possible to fit these units if the fascia is to be over capped.
Through Soffit Ventilation This is the traditional method of providing ventilation. Installers usually use slotted (Swish Polo) boards. However, where the original soffit is being retained and overcapped, circular ventilators will have to be fitted to provide a clear air path through both boards.
