The steel upper storeys of the 64 properties were clad using Swish 150mm Shiplap profile in 7m lengths. To minimise condensation a breather membrane was used behind the cladding. Insulation was also installed, significantly improving the thermal performance of the buildings.

 

To complete their smart new look, the roofline of the houses was replaced with Swish Jumbo fascias and Polo soffits. Leicester City Council Housing Department comments, "The appearance of these properties is very much improved by the use of Swish products, and our tenants will benefit from the increased insulation."

It is an ideal substitute for timber cladding, as cellular PVC is weather resistant, durable and virtually maintenance free. It does not require painting and will not warp, flake or discolour.
