Simon Shaw, contracts manager for builders Westbrooke explains, "The building had to be designed to fit in with the traditional style of the properties on either side. But its close proximity to the coast and the harsh weather conditions experienced here mean that modern, durable materials were needed.

 

"By using cellular PVC roofline products from Swish we are offering homeowners a property that requires minimum maintenance, as PVC will not rot, warp or need repainting. If timber had been used in these conditions, it would have needed constant attention, and given the height of the apex, this would have been a very difficult job."

Swish Building Products offers a choice of two decorative bargeboard systems. The Decorative Roofline and Roofstyle ranges reflect the trend in both newbuild and refurbishment projects to add character features that will increase the individuality and kerb appeal of both modern and traditional style homes.

 

The Decorative Roofline range can be supplied in a choice of convex or concave designs. These 16mm thick boards are supplied in 5m lengths, and are available ex-stock. Bespoke designs can be manufactured subject to minimum order restrictions.

 

The Roofstyle system consists of convex and concave moulded pieces that can be fixed to the bargeboard or directly to the verge gable ladder. The mouldings can be assembled in any order with secret fixings, giving a greater choice of decorative effects.
