Eaves protection units are available in unvented and vented formats. When vented versions are used the height of the fascia should be reduced by 25mm.Unvented
Jumbotec over fascia protection is a rigid PVC
extrusion. It is fixed to the top of the fascia
and supports roofing felt immediately behind the fascia.
Unsupported felt often collects water, a process known as ponding.
It then deteriorates and allows moisture through to the
rafters.
Vented Eaves Protector
The Vented Eaves Protector (C404) provides over
fascia protection in a similar way to Jumbotec above. In addition
it provides over fascia ventilation equivalent to a continuous 10mm
air gap.
A separate Bird Comb (C405) may be
attached to keep out birds and large insects in conjunction with
profiled tiles.
